Something Worse

Yuma and Yuna arrived at his grandmother’s house. When Yuma opened the door he saw a dead body, it was his grandmother’s. She had been gored through the stomach. Yuma went up to the body and realized what the Desumantisu was talking about when he said “you have lost everything.”

“Umm... Brother, what are you going to do?” Yuna asked out of fear.

Yuma ran up to his room, grabbed a book he had on necromancy, went back down and started using her blood to paint some symbols he found in it.

Yuna went outside to see if Róise was home. As luck would have it, as soon as she went out the door she came across Róise.

“Yuna?”

“Róise, Yuma is trying to revive Shiichoo by necromancy,” Yuna said.

“Oh crap, if only I hadn’t been visiting my folks in Ireland,” Róise stated.

“Go find Sire. Surely he can talk Yuma out of this. I’ll try while you’re out.”

“Got it.”

Yuna told Yuma that this isn’t what their grandmother would want, but he didn’t listen. She would have fought him but she was afraid he would beat her. She tried and tried, but Yuma’s dedication to this act of his was iron.

Sire arrived just in time. Calling Yuma’s name caused him to stop for a moment. “Shiatsili, you and I both know this isn’t going end with only more suffering. That’s why necromancy is banned.”

Yuma sniveled, “But... Shiichoo.”

“Now you not only have a brother, but a sister, but you also have friends that care about you as well. Don’t any of us matter?”

Yuma cried his eyes out as he abandoned his attempt at necromancy.

Yuna told him, “Now come on, we have to set up a funeral for her.”

After the funeral, Yuma took Yuna to the graves of their grandparents and parents, all located in the same block. Yuna introduced herself and they spoke of all that had transpired, including all of the gender-changing adventures as the time for holding on to secrets had already ended, no point in holding onto them any longer.

Yuna began to tear up, “I miss them already.”

Yuma comforted her, “I do too Sister, I do too.”

Later, Róise led Yuma and Yuna to a forest near their city where spirits of ancestors were said to show themselves to those who need it. After a bit of walking they came across two different Apache women. One was a human from the 1600s while the other had wolf ears and a tail; she was a wolf spirit.

“Who are you two?” Yuma asked.

“I am Sonsee-array,” the human said.

“And I am the first one in your lineage. You may call me Kushala,” the wolf spirit told them.

Sonsee-array spoke, “I have come to tell you that the Thundermoon women have always had a knack for magic. Generations of adept magic-users flow through your veins. However, only the women have this gift. The men just can’t use magic. Go figure.”

“Sweet,” Yuna replied.

Yuma finally realized it. He asked in an embarrassed tone, “Oh, you two have been watching me, huh?”

“Yes.”

“Ah, well in any case, if I ever get turned into a girl I’ll have something to fight back with finally.”

“Yeah, about that,” Sonsee-array explained, “you both would still need someone to teach how to control your magic. A magic-user without any lessons on using and controlling their magic can lose control of their magic if they feel any extreme emotions.”

“May I?” Róise asked.

Yuma and Yuna agreed to let Róise give magic lessons, though Yuma would have to be in female form.

Kushala elaborated her part, “Yuma, Yuna, both of you wield great spirit power. You both can unleash the fullest extent that this can go by entering what is known as the ‘Great Wolf’ form.”

“So that’s what I did before. Hey, are my parents watching me from Heaven?”

“We cannot answer that. You will find out when it is your time. We have done our part so we will return to Heaven and continue to watch you, both of you.”

The two women spirits faded away.

“So, now will you let me use transformation spells on you, Yuma?” Roise requested.

“Yes, you may.”
Let me start off by saying that I know this is out of sync, but the story that contains the death of the Desumantisu uses someone else's character and I'm still waiting on a response about my request. Secondly, yeah, I still don't have an idea for the story of how Yuma and Sire met.

In this part of the reboot continuity, Yuma getting turned into a little girl, among other things, is gone. I hope this created a better flow for the story.

Yuma, Yuna, and Róise belong to me
