Back story: Yuma had a somewhat troubled life. By age seven, his father died (his mother was presumed to be dead as well) while he was with his grandparents (father’s side). The police ruled it a homicide, but Yuma knew it was no human that cause the deaths. He knew it was a demon, and from then on he knew what he wanted to be: a demon hunter. He had been raised on stories of his great-grandfather’s demon-hunting. His parents had discouraged it but his grandmother spoke of these stories anyway.
By age eight, his grandfather died due to cancer. Although life at home was pretty happy, he was quite the loner at school. He never talked to anyone and never even attempted to make friends. This was the same year he started training with Mael MacTavish, a local weapons instructor from Scotland.
At age ten, Mael MacTavish began teaching Yuma how to utilize his spirit power in order to strengthen and energize his body. He also took the boy to father/son events that his friends hosted. They dressed in traditional Scottish attire, much to Yuma's chagrin, during these events (they still wore underwear).
At age twelve, he finally gained a friend. A faerie by the name of Róise made her home in a tree that Yuma and his grandmother planted the year before. Yuma and Róise could at least talk to each other. Knowing that she was of the Seelie court, he opened up about the deaths of his parents and grandfather and she responded with open arms. However, despite this, he did not bother to make any friends at school and remained a loner. This was also the same year that Mael MacTavish sent his recommendation to the Demon Hunter's Guild.
At age fourteen, he passed the test to the Demon Hunter’s Guild in his city and became a full member. He managed life as an ordinary boy in high school and life as a demon hunter quite well.
At age eighteen, he made a reputation for himself comparable to his great-grandfather, well on his way to becoming a paragon like the man.
At age nineteen, he met a man named Ben. Ben turned him into a girl. He, or rather she, followed his advice. She took a new name for this form, Lozen, and bought some "just in case" outfits. Róise found her and recognized her, but the faerie agreed not to tell Lozen's grandma about this. Lozen then made herself the benefactor of Yuma at the Demon Hunter's Guild. Afterwards, she was turned back into Yuma.
At age twenty, Yuma met Andrew who activated a curse that Yuma had since birth by miscalling him "Yuna." This made him transform into a female werewolf, a separate entity. They found a magic-user named Morty who attempted to alter a magical lock that had been placed with this curse. It failed but this caused the Messenger, Yi-na-yes-gon-i to appear. He revealed that it was he who placed the lock there. He agreed to alter the lock. The trigger was still "Yuna," but the way to change her back was "Yuma, Yuma, Yuma." Yuna and Andrew managed to get her back into Yuma's house without being detected by Yuma's grandmother. In the morning, Yuma was back.
Andrew decided to turn Yuma into Yuna once again because he told her that she would come back. This time however, she was in heat. Luckily, Yuma's grandmother and Róise came to Andrew's house, and the faerie turned Yuna into a human in a yellow dress. There she revealed that one of Yuma's ancestors had been cursed by a demon. The curse was that "the chief's son," would be born a demon that would bring about the end of the world. He turned to Yi-na-yes-gon-i who made changed the curse so that Yuma, whose name means "chief's son," would still be born a human. However, should someone say the name "Yuna," the name the demon chose for the descendant, he would be turned into a female werewolf.
After that explanation, Róise and Yuma's grandmother went back to their house and Yuna spent the day with Andrew as a human. The next morning, Yuna was back to being Yuma and his grandmother revealed to him that she knew about the curse all along, and that his parents learned of it when they listed Yuna as a name to give a girl, so Yuma was turned into a werewolf in the womb. He changed back thanks to his grandmother using the old method. His parents told him that his great-grandfather's feats were just stories because they wanted a normal life for him.
Yuma and Sire traveled to Mexico to fight the demon that cursed Yuma in the first place, Desumantisu. Together they vanquished it, separating Yuna and Yuma forever. However, when those two got back home, they found Shiichoo dead. Yuma immediately resorted to necromancy while Yuna sent Róise to find Sire. He managed to snap Yuma back to his sense. After the funeral, Yuma and Yuna revealed everything to their dead parents.
They went to a forest where the spirits of the dead show themselves. There, they learned from two relatives that the females in the family are the ones that can use magic, and that the first one in the lineage is a wolf spirit, which allows them to go into Great Wolf form. From then on, it was decided that Róise would teach Yuna and Lozen how to use their magic powers.
Later in the next year, Yuma lost a bet and so he had to become Lozen and spend some time on the beach with Yuna and Róise, who turned herself into a human. They went to investigate a mysterious voice they heard while Róise saved their spot. They transformed into mermaids after diving in the water. They found distant relatives, learned that a merfolk ancestor took to land, and of the Voice of the Ocean. Back at home, Yuma’s phobia of being turned into a girl was revealed. All of his friends and Yuna vowed they would help him overcome this.
At age 23, he was introduced to his succubus great-grandmother. He would come to terms with discovering his demon heritage. His great-grandmother, Gran, also learned of his female form and accepted this as he will end up permanently transformed into a succubus should his demon blood take over.
Later, he met his older sister (by one year) Nilche Lizhen, a vampire. Yuma and Nilche Lizhen engaged in combat. Nilche Lizhen ended up winning and turned Yuma into Lozen. As it turns out, she had been keeping a close eye on Yuma. Lozen, Yuna, and Rose (Ben's female form) went to a night club where Lozen got drunk. The next morning, Yuna performed a favor for Lozen. She look into their parents' house for records. The records there proved that Nilche Lizhen was indeed their older sister. She was kidnapped by a vampire and converted into one of them.
Lozen with Yuna, Nilche Lizhen, and Lilith (a Honduran fruit bat-turned-human), met up with the merfolk relatives. Although Lozen had fun, she was not over her phobia. So, a discussion with her mother caused her to accept this form of hers. She no longer feared being permanently transformed into a woman. She wondered whether this was an end or a new beginning.
Here is Yuma Thundermoon's new profile. Unfortunately, I do not have an image to accompany his new look so this will have to do. As you can see, one thing I intend to do is make Róise a more important character. However, I don't intend for her to be a character that transforms Yuma into a girl. Also, he does have more relatives because while both of his parents were single children, his grandparents were born to large families (larger than the modern normal at least), so he has cousins that he knows little to nothing about. They live out of state though, some even out of the country.
