The year was 2012, the world had been overrun with the walking dead. Nobody was expecting out of all the possibilities. I knew...always knew for that matter. The world wasn't but I sure the hell was. They calls me Koy, for what ever reason I have no idea. My job is to exterminate these walking corpses.
I lost everything when the zombie apocalypse came. Family, friends, money, and etc. None of that matters now, I've survived and as far as I know I'm the only survivor.
"Damn things..." I said as I walked past a half eaten corpse with organs ripped apart. I walked around it only to step in a huge puddle of fresh blood.

Nate felt his fingers twitch beneath the earth, distant and numb inside his own skull. He watched the dirt move above his head through rotted eyelids, the harsh light of day ripping open above. He tried to blink, but couldn't, the flaps of skin long since gone as his hands groped on the dirt above.
He realized with a start that there were maggots in, white and fat from crawling through his flesh. He brushed them off, feeling distant and cold as the dropped from his body. The only thing that felt real was the knife.
He remembered the knife, even through his foggy brain. Remembered how it had felt, plunging through tissue and muscle to lodge
